Assam’s beloved singer Zubeen Garg has offered a heartfelt tribute to late singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, better known as KK, who died abruptly on June 1.

His untimely death baffled his fans, and messages of condolences began to stream in from the music and film industries.

Mourning the singer’s untimely demise, Zubeen, took to social media to share a video in which he paid a heartfelt farewell to his late friend, KK.

In the video, Zubeen performs KK’s popular song “Zara Sa” from the film Jannat.

“We knew each other through music. We made friends through music. And when he is gone, all that remains is his music,” said Zubeen Garg in the caption of his post.

“This is the least I could do in your memory, brother! I know for sure – generations to come shall keep your music alive in their hearts and lips!” added Garg.

Signing off the heartfelt message with love, he further added, “This is my tribute to one of the greatest singers of our generation – the one and only KK. Love, Zubeen.”

Zubeen Garg sang three songs with KK and admitted that he was really close to him and that the two of them had an excellent relationship.

Zubeen Garg revealed that later this year, KK was planning to pay a visit to Assam to celebrate his birthday in November.

On May 31, the 54-year-old singer became ill while playing live in Kolkata and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
