Assam’s Heartthrob Zubeen Garg has named his Kharguli residence road “Poet Hiren Bhattacharya Road” in honour of legendary Assamese poet and lyricist Hiren Bhattacharya.

On his social media, the singer announced the road’s naming as a tribute to the late Poet, with the caption, “The road in front of my Kharghuli residence is in his name now. Happy that I could do it. A humble tribute from my side to you, Hiruda!”

Hiren Bhattacharyya was a poet and lyricist best known for his works in Assamese literature. He was born on July 28, 1932, and died on July 4, 2012. He had a large number of works published in Assamese, and his poetry received numerous awards and accolades.
