Relief for man-animal conflict victims: Wildlife Depredation to be considered as a State Specific Disaster in Assam, with relief for victims of man-animal conflict, according to sources.
Incidents of man-animal conflicts/wildlife depredation involving the tiger, leopard, Indian wolf, hyena, crocodile, elephant, rhinoceros, and wild boar are covered by this provision.
Victims will receive a payment of Rs. 4 lakh as an ex-gratia payment.
