Volvo bus service from Itanagar to Guwahati via Tezpur is ready to be introduced by Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services (APSTS).
The Arunachal Pradesh state transport minister — Nakap Nalo with his officers held a meeting with Volvo Buses India president on Tuesday, December 7, where they discuss the possibilities of deploying premium Volvo buses in Arunachal Pradesh under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
According to reports, the APSTS has proposed overall six routes to introduce Volvo bus services: Itanagar-Guwahati via Tezpur; Itanagar-Dimapur via Lakhimpur-Jorhat; Itanagar-Tezu via Pasighat-Roing; Itanagar-Miao via Dibrugarh-Namsai; Itanagar-Shillong via Tezpur-Nagaon; and Itanagar-Dibrugarh via Lakhimpur-Dhemaji.
Volvo buses are considered to be convenient for long distance commuters.
