On Sunday night in Guwahati, Virat Kohli’s ‘selfless knock’ stole the hearts of cricket fans, and the cheerful crowd that supported the game also received accolades from the star player himself.
Kohli thanked the fans on Twitter for their overwhelming support while praising them.
In a post-midnight Tweet, the top player wrote while posting images from the match, “Great game. Terrific atmosphere. Thank you Guwahati.”
The former captain of Team India received the greatest applause from the almost 39,000 spectators present at the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Stadium.
“Thank you very much @imVkohli,” tweeted Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was present at the game, in response to Kohli.
During net practise at the stadium on the day before the game, Kohli also took pictures with fans and received praise from his fans.
