In the opening ODI of the three-match series between India and Sri Lanka on Tuesday at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Virat Kohli scored his first century of the year.
It was his 45th ODI century and 73rd overall. After launching 10 fours and one six, Kohli quickly reached the triple-figure milestone. Prior to his departure in the 49th over, Kohli amassed 113 runs off 87 balls (12 fours and 1 six). With Kohli leading the way, India eventually reached 373/7 in 50 overs.
Besides Kohli, the other two scorers were the captain Rohit Sharma (83 runs off 67 balls) and Shubman Gill (70 runs off 60 balls).
