A unique and beautiful practice of the Srimanta Sankar Guru School of Bishwanath Chariali was recounted by journalist Nandan Pratim Sharma Bordoloi on Saturday. Instead of ties around their necks, the school’s faculty and students wear Assam’s pride ‘Gamosa.’
In a tweet, the senior journalist appreciating the tradition of the school, wrote, “Unique and admirable! For the past eleven years, the pride of Assam, ‘Gamosa’, has been included in the ‘uniform’ of Srimanta Sankar Guru School of Bishwanath Chariali. Students and teachers wear Gamosas to school instead of ties around their necks!”
