Three Assam candidates have brought laurels to the state following their success in the UPSC examination this year.
The Union Public Service Commission announced the results of the examination on Monday.
Shilpa Khanikar, Ayushi Kalwar, and Devajyoti Burman are the three Assam candidates.
Shilpa Khanikar received the 506th rank in the UPSC exams, while Ayushi and Devajyoti received 618th and 639th places, respectively.
Noticeably, the top three positions in the UPSC 2021 exams were all obtained by women. The ranking was topped by Shruti Sharma of Uttar Pradesh, followed by Ankita Agrawal and Gamini Singla.
As per the Commission’s successful candidates list, 244 of the successful candidates are from the general category, 73 from economically weaker sections, 203 from other backward classes, 105 from scheduled castes, and 60 from scheduled tribes.
