Burglars stole not only cash but also food goods like as laru-pitha, fish, meat, edible oil, and other items from a shop called AAU Fresh in Khanapara on Monday night, according to reports.
In an interaction with the media, the proprietor of AAU Fresh stated, “The vehicles from Kanyaka arrive in the morning at around 4:30-5:00. They called me saying that the door couldn’t be opened. I reached the spot and after entering the shop saw that both the cash boxes have been broken and emptied. They left twenty rupees in one of the cash boxes. They also took away the CCTV camera recording box. When we took stock of the goods we found a lot of it was missing including meat, 6 bags of rice, masala cartons, egg cartons, tea bags etc.”
The shop is located on the Assam Agricultural University’s Guwahati campus and distributes food supplies from Kanyaka Farm (a community agro farm in Biswanath District).
