In an effort to restore Assam’s iconic ‘Rang Ghar’ monument to its former glory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the virtual foundation stone for its beautification on Friday.
The project, valued at ₹124 crores, will also include high-level infrastructural development around the monument to encourage tourism. Ranoj Pegu revealed the project’s draft plan, which features stunning images of the monument’s redevelopment. Pegu expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for elevating Assam’s heritage to new heights.
The proposed redevelopment plan includes an open-air food court, an artificial boating area, a large cultural stage, trees along the entrance, and an organized parking lot with ample space. The draft images of the plan indicate that the soon-to-be-developed infrastructure will occupy a vast area of land.
