Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta on Sunday said that the Assam government has decided to provide minority certificates to six minority communities in the state.

Health Minister Mahanta said that minority certificates will be provided to Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis.

The minister said, “Assam Cabinet has decided to provide minority certificates to the people of six religious minority communities – Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis.”

The decision was made at a state cabinet meeting in Guwahati, chaired by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
