Shaabaash, a song by popular Assamese singer Nilotpal Bora, was adopted as the anthem for Indian athletes at the Birmingham-hosted 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Sharing the news, Bora wrote on his Facebook feed, “Biggest news of my Musical Career till now, my song “Shaabaash” becomes the Anthem for Indian Athletes at Commonwealth Games.”
When Indian Athletes were performing during the Friday wrestling match, the song was played.
Later, the singer expressed his contentment on Instagram, writing, “I am beyond ecstatic. It is indeed a big thing for any artist. Never did we imagine that our song would attain this milestone. Our athletes are already making us proud at one of the biggest sporting events in the world and being a part of their journey even in a compact manner swells my heart with pride.”
“I dedicate this to all my people for their dedicated support and encouragement. It really keeps me going. Would like to extend a heartiest congratulations to the entire team,” added Nilotpal Bora.
The song “Shaabaash” is from the Netflix film Jaadugar, starring Jitendra Kumar and Jaaved Jaaferi.
Singer Nilotpal Bora is well-known for his songs, including “Majuli”, “Dhaaga” from the TVF series Aspirants, etc.
