Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday declared that every student who passed the Class XII examinations with a first division (60 percent marks or above) will receive a scooty.
Previously, only successful girl candidates received scooties.
In a campaign rally in Kheroni playground in Karbi Anglong, Chief Minister Sarma announced, “In higher secondary if someone gets first division, all will get scooty. Girls as well as boys will get scooty.”
Boys from all around the state have been clamouring for their inclusion in the programme for a long time, and the CM’s statement came as a pleasant surprise to them.
