As part of the ongoing battle against drugs, Guwahati Police arrested a bus driver for his involvement in the illegal drug trade on Tuesday.
The drug peddler, Nitumoni Kalita, was employed as the driver of the Holy Child School bus in Guwahati, Assam, according to reports.
Locals in Guwahati’s Krishna Nagar area caught the driver red-handed and turned him over to the police.
During police questioning, Nitumoni Saikia admitted to being the school bus driver and a drug dealer.
A large amount of drugs was also discovered in the peddler’s possession. The Chandmari Police are currently interrogating him.
Earlier this month, Assam police apprehended three accused drug dealers in the Lakhimpur district and discovered 5 grams of narcotics in their possession.
