A girl passenger was allegedly assaulted with a helmet by a Rapido driver in Guwahati on Monday evening.
The girl had made a reservation for a bike ride from Jayanagar to Kumarpara on the Rapido app.
According to reports, when the girl refused to pay the driver extra money, he took advantage of the darkness and harassed her, following which the girl shouted.
The girl was hurt when the furious driver smacked her with his helmet.
After the incident, a team of Dispur police officers nabbed the accused driver, identified as Dipen Gohain. He was then taken to the police station for further legal action.
