In the middle of Assam’s job and unemployment disputes, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday that working for ‘Reliance’ would be a better option than passing the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). A job at Reliance, according to CM Sarma, is a “matter of pride.”

The Chief Minister reportedly made the statement while speaking to a crowd at Panjabari’s Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra Auditorium.

He said that if a person obtains a job after passing the TET, they will be limited to a salary of Rs 50000, but that by working for Reliance, they will be able to earn more than Rs 50000 per month if they work hard.

He also remarked that private sector pay rates are greater than those in the government sector.
