First consignment of Assam lemon for export to UK dispatch from Baksa, informs chief minister of Assam
On Friday evening, the honourable chief minister of Assam took it to his Twitter to express the news of appreciation of the exportation of Assam lemon to UK.
“Happy to share that the first consignment of Assam lemon for export to UK has been dispatched from Baksa. About 600kg of lemons have been sent as part of an export commitment by the producer at the rate of Rs. 30 per kg for about 80 tonnes over the next 2 months from Gati, Salbari.” – tweeted Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, chief minister of Assam.
“The lemons are being delivered to Guwahati from where these will be sent to Delhi where these will be repacked and sent to London” – he further added.
Under the initiative of Nilachal Agro Producer company limited, the consignment of the promised lemons has been dispatched from the producer’s place, supported by the deputy commissioner’s Office & District Agricultural office Baksa.
