From Monday, May 16, to Friday, May 20, the Regional Met Centre (RMC) in Guwahati forecasts cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
According to the RMC’s forecast issued on Monday, rain or thunderstorms are expected in Guwahati on May 21, Saturday and May 22, Sunday.
The minimum temperature will be 23 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature will be 33 degrees Celsius from May 17 to May 22.
The RMC also predicts the following effects for Guwahati on May 16 and 17:
i) Visibility may become poor during the intense spell of rainfall.
ii) Waterlogging in many parts of low lying areas.
iii) Inundation of roads and streets
iv) Disruption of traffic due to waterlogging on roads.
v) May cause localised and short term disruption to municipal services (water, electricity etc.)
vi) May trigger landslides and landslips on the hills.
