The monthly per-unit cost of electricity in Assam is expected to be hiked by Rs. 2 soon, as, regarding this, APDCL submitted a proposal to the Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission (AERC).
After the approval from the AERC, the hiked prices are expected to come into effect from the beginning of 2022.
As arranged by the AERC, the prevailing per-unit cost of electricity in the state for connections above 5kW load is Rs. 7.25 per unit, while for connections below that, the cost is divided as for the first 120 units consumed is charged at Rs. 5.4 per unit, and for 120-240 units, Rs. 6.65, and above 240 units, Rs. 7.65 per unit.
