A man was assaulted by fellow passengers on a bus travelling from Roing to Guwahati for reportedly sexually assaulting and physically abusing a female on the seat in front of him, according to reports.
On Tuesday, at 3:45 a.m., a girl named Emma boarded the Night Superbus from Roing to Guwahati. She was sound asleep when a man seated near him grabbed her breast.
When she realised what had happened, she awoke in panic, hit the man in the face three times, and yelled for all the passengers to wake up.
The accused was then dragged from the bus and thrashed in the middle of the road by several passengers.
When asked why he did it, the man replied he did it in his sleep and was unaware of it. Later, though, he confessed to committing the heinous act.
An FIR has been filed, and the man has been arrested.
