A man was purportedly seen eating human flesh in a crematorium in Assam’s Bongaigaon district. Satish Chandra Rai, a Bongaigaon resident, was identified as the suspect, according to reports.
The horrific incident elicited a strong reaction in the neighbourhood. Villagers noticed the man collecting chunks of a dead body at a local Hindu cremation ground and later observed him eating it, bringing the situation to light.
Rai was discovered eating human flesh from bodies at the cremation ground, according to villagers, who also noticed two chunks of flesh in his palm.
Meanwhile, Rai admits to getting drunk and eating half of the body’s charred meat. He admits to losing his senses owing to inebriation and eating the burnt flesh.
