Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Monday that the flyover being constructed in Guwahati’s Maligaon area will be unveiled to the public before the Durga Puja festival later this year. Providing an update on the project’s progress, CM Sarma took to Twitter to emphasize the significance of the Maligaon flyover in alleviating traffic congestion in Guwahati.

The flyover, comprising four lanes, will stretch from Maligaon to Kamakhya Gate, with a two-lane diversion leading to Pandu. Spanning a distance of 2.6 kilometers (2630.60 meters), it is estimated to cost Rs 420.75 crore.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the construction of the flyover was carefully planned to minimize the need for land acquisition. Once completed, it will become the longest flyover in the State, surpassing others until the Noonmati-Dighalipukhuri flyover becomes operational.
