Every year on December 25, people from all over the world celebrate Christmas, also referred to as the “Feast day of Christ.” It is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Keeping with the festivities, every year around Christmas, a long line forms to enter the City Center of Guwahati. Similar to last year, a huge crowd can be observed in the shopping mall this year also.
This day, which is celebrated as a holy festival, brings joy to Christians everywhere. It is also observed by non-Christians as a seasonal feast. All businesses, institutions of higher learning, and government and non-governmental organizations in Guwahati are closed owing to this celebration.
