Notably, elderly citizens above 85 years can vote via postal ballots from home, with approximately 8,000 such voters in Guwahati.
The Maniram Dewan Trade Centre is designated as the distribution center and strong room this time, with notification set for April 12, 2024.
Key dates include nomination filing from April 12-19, scrutiny on April 20, and withdrawal until April 22, leading to polling on May 7, 2024.
Additionally, 2,181 polling stations are established, with 25 flying squad teams and a dedicated helpline (1950) for election-related complaints.
The Election Commission unveiled a three-phase voting schedule, with Assam polls slated for April 19, April 26, and May 7, 2024.
