The liquor sale in Guwahati on December 31st witnessed a massive jump as the city registered a liquor sale worth Rs 6 crore.
“On 31st December, though there were few people on road, the city witnessed liquor sale worth Rs 6 crore, including Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL),” said one of the city-based liquor distributors.
Notably, Guwahati achieved the reputation of not registering even a single accident on December 31, 2021. Also, the police launched drives in 55 places and found 115 drunk driving cases which is very minimal compared to earlier years.
It is noteworthy to mention that, reportedly, Rs 5 crore worth of alcohol was sold on the occasion of Diwali on November 4th and 5th, 2021 in Guwahati.
