Not only are the rates of gas, diesel, pharmaceuticals, and power skyrocketing, but so are the prices of lemons and other necessities, which are causing difficulties for Guwahatians. Lemons are priced at Rs 10 a piece in Guwahati’s main markets, such as Ganeshguri and Kachari Ghat.
Retailers in these markets stated they get lemons from wholesalers for Rs 7-8 and sell them for Rs 10.
Retailers also stated that potato prices are projected to rise in the coming days due to a lack of supply from local suppliers. They anticipate that onion prices will fall as local supply arrives in the following days.
