Shukur Ali, has been taken into custody by the police in connection with a money laundering investigation.
Shukur Ali is accused of stealing from the public.
Sukur Ali, according to reports, stole money from the general population under the guise of numerous government schemes. Additionally, he was charged with obtaining Rs 30,000 from a person promising him a government job.
Upon learning of the con, the public reported it to the local police. Shukur Ali was detained and taken to the police station by Kazigaon Police based on the complaints.
A local said, “It’s been 15 days we are trying to reach him via phone but our efforts seem in vain. He is neither meeting us nor picking up our phone call.”
A different local who had given him cash said, “He took 22000 rupees from me in the name of building and providing a government allotted, and it’s been more than 3 months, and we neither got our house nor our money.”
“He promised me a government job and took Rs. 30,000 from me. But, now it seems everything was a scam,” commented another villager.
Shukur Ali’s mother, in contrast, asserts that her son is innocent and not tainted by any form of corruption.
