Table Tennis player Birdie Boro makes history by becoming the first international player to clear Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).

After Hima Das, Lovleena Borgohain, and Nayanmoni Saikia, he is reportedly the fourth international player to join the police force. In the most recent APSC results, he earned the 66th spot.

As a member of the Indian national team, Birdie Boro played Table Tennis internationally and was a previous national Table Tennis champion.

He received his education at the Mayoor School in Ajmer, Rajasthan, and received his training at the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) TT Academy. He attended St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi and graduated with a degree in philosophy.

Prior to the Covid 19 epidemic, he trained in Germany and competed in the German League for both international and domestic competitions.

When all sporting events were suspended worldwide during the Covid-19 shutdown, it became clear to him that he should seek a career in civil services. Thereafter, he studied for the prestigious exam, and cleared it on his first try.
