The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) took action on Friday, February 16, by imposing a ₹5000 fine on a resident who obstructed Kamakhya Temple Road with construction materials.
In a public announcement on their X handle, the GMC urged all residents to avoid blocking roads in the interest of commuter safety, emphasizing that non-compliance would lead to penalties. This follows Wednesday’s surprise raids, where the GMC penalized numerous businesses for trade license irregularities.
