Guwahati is experiencing record-breaking temperatures in April, with the mercury soaring up to 39 degrees Celsius on Monday, April 10th.

This marks the first time that the temperature has reached such heights so early in the year. Along with the extreme heat, a dust storm has hit the city, making it difficult for people to navigate the streets due to construction materials lying unattended and causing respiratory issues.

The air quality in the city is reportedly poor and is affecting people with respiratory issues who spend extended periods outside. As the Rongali Bihu celebrations approach, the extreme weather conditions are expected to make it difficult for people to enjoy the festivities.

According to weather.com, the temperature in Guwahati is likely to continue rising in the next few days, with an average temperature of 38-39 degrees Celsius. During the Bihu celebrations on April 14th and 15th, the temperature is expected to reach a high of 40-41 degrees Celsius, with a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius after sunset.
