Assam’s summer heatwave began in March and is expected to continue in the coming days, according to the state’s meteorological department.

The weather across the state will remain the same, according to officials from the Regional Meteorological Centre in Borjhar, Guwahati, with some changes on March 23 and 24.

The temperature will drop slightly over the next two days, with only a little rain expected in a few places.

According to officials, temperatures reached 34.0 degrees on March 12, 34.4 degrees on March 13, 36.0 degrees on March 14, 36.0 degrees on March 15, 36.1 degrees on March 16, 36.5 degrees on March 17, 36.4 degrees on March 18, and 36.0 degrees on March 19.

The weather did not vary much across the state over the last week, but there was some variation in temperature in Guwahati and the areas surrounding the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport in Borjhar.

On Sunday, the temperature in the areas surrounding the Guwahati airport reached 36 degrees Celsius, while Guwahati reached 37 degrees Celsius.

The extreme heat in Guwahati in March is a sign that the amount of trees and greenery is slowly dwindling, giving way to the rapid construction of massive buildings across the city.
