Guwahati’s Lakhi Das has achieved a remarkable feat by being selected to participate in the new reality show, ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’. The show premiered on MX Player on February 12th, and Lakhi is the only girl from Northeast India who made it to the show.

The highly anticipated show, hosted by Bollywood superstar Sunil Shetty, features some of the best MMA fighters from across the country, battling it out in intense combat. The selection process was a rigorous one, and Lakhi’s inclusion is a testament to her exceptional skill and determination.

Lakhi’s introduction on the show was unique and heartwarming as she greeted Sunil Shetty with an Assamese gamusa. This gesture is sure to make her an instant hit with audiences not just in Assam, but across the country.

While speaking with JGT, Manash Daimary, Lakhi Das’s coach, said, “Lakhi is a brilliant fighter, having trained with me at Dojang MMA for the past 2-3 years, and is a two-time national Muay Thai champion. As the head coach of Dojang MMA, I am incredibly proud of her for achieving this success. She is an exceptionally hardworking individual. This opportunity to participate in ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’ is a dream come true for MMA fighters across the country, and Lakhi is the only girl from the Northeast to be selected. At Dojang MMA, our goal is to build a team of champions, and this is just the beginning for us and for Lakhi. Despite having only a short time to prepare, she took the fight with great courage. We are confident that in the next season, there will be even more fighters from Dojang MMA and Assam participating in the competition.”
