After zero road accidents on New Year’s Eve, Guwahati city again witnesses another accident-free celebration on Uruka night.
The Guwahati Traffic Police informed via Twitter that no accidents were reported in the city on Uruka. The police tweeted, “Guwahati responded positively to the Hon’ CM @himantabiswa ‘s vision for road safety & we had an accident free Uruka last night. We were out there, but very few violated the rules.”
The city traffic police further informed that there were 48 cases of drunk driving; 58 were reported without helmets and 22 without seatbelts.
Moreover, the police collected an amount of Rs. 11.52 lakhs as fines, from 596 total violations.
