In a significant development, Guwahati, the bustling city in Assam, is bracing itself for a major infrastructural upgradation. A four-lane flyover, stretching from Noonmati to the Reserve Bank at Panbazar, is set to transform the city’s transportation landscape.

At an estimated cost of Rs 852.68 crore, this ambitious project will cover a distance of 5.4 km, making it the second-longest flyover in India, surpassed only by the impressive 11.6 km Visweswaraiah flyover in Hyderabad.

The decision to proceed with this crucial undertaking was announced today during the Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. The flyover is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and significantly reduce travel time for commuters within the city.

Once completed, this infrastructural marvel will not only enhance Guwahati’s connectivity but also promote economic growth and improve the overall quality of life for its residents. The flyover’s construction is eagerly anticipated by citizens and is seen as a monumental step towards the city’s progress.
