At a cost of Rs 185 crore, the Assam government has planned to build a state-of-the-art public auditorium with 5,000 seats at Khanapara, Guwahati.
The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting in Tezpur on Saturday, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The auditorium will be built on a 40-bighas plot of land held under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services.
The auditorium will include a modern audio-visual system and IT infrastructure, as well as lounges, breakout spaces, a green room, and other backstage facilities, large green lawns, space for open banquets, and an independent 6-story multi-level car parking block with 600 parking spaces, among other amenities.
