On March 10th, the Northeast Frontier Railway and the All Assam Transgender Association opened a tea stall managed entirely by the Transgender community at Guwahati Railway Station.
This marks the first such initiative in any government organization in India and aims to provide economic opportunities and a safe space for transgender individuals.
The tea stall has been stationed on platform number 1 and has received positive feedback from customers. Plans are in place to open more Trans Tea Stalls at other railway stations in the region.
