Guwahati reported selling almost 6 crores worth of alcoholic beverages over the past two days in celebration of Diwali.
According to reports, on October 24 and 25, alcohol sales totaled about Rs 5.97 crores, or about Rs 2.99 crores per day.
People of Guwahati’s practise of drinking alcohol with friends and family members while celebrating Diwali appears to be customary. As a result, every year during the days preceding Diwali, the sale of alcohol at liquor stores has increased dramatically.
