Guwahati Municipal Corporation has now set up CCTV cameras that can be monitored and operated remotely in order to catch unscrupulous parties that dump garbage in the river systems.
Commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation, M N Dahal, informing about the development, said, “We are committed to impose heaviest penalties on the offenders!”
Signs warning against dumping and stating that the river is protected by video surveillance can be observed in the city.
