During Durga Puja festivities, alcohol worth 16.80 crore rupees was sold in Kamrup Metropolitan District.
Rs 4.89 crore, Rs 6.75 crore, and Rs 5.25 crore worth of liquor were sold on October 1st, October 3rd, and October 4th, respectively. Even though Saptami and Dashami were dry days, a significant amount of sales were seen on these three days of the puja, according to a senior excise department official.
