At least 30 people tested positive for COVID-19, including teachers and staff at the Gurukul Grammar School in Guwahati, on Tuesday.
According to reports, the school’s teachers and staff have been sick with a cough and fever for the previous three to four days, yet they have continued to take classes.
The incident was reported by the students’ parents and guardians to the District Commissioner.
Later, representatives from the district administration arrived at the school with a team of health officials to test all 144 teachers and staff members.
After 30 of them tested positive for the virus, the school was ordered closed indefinitely by the district administration.
