To commemorate the 400th birth anniversary of the legendary Ahom warrior who overthrew the Mughal Empire, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled the Lachit Borphukan app and portal on Wednesday at a press conference held at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati.
writing their thoughts down on paper and uploading them to the app, users can express their opinions about the fighter.
The people who upload their writings to the portal and app will receive certificates of acknowledgment from the state government.
People from all over the world are welcome to comment on Lachit Borphukan, said the chief minister.
A competition for essays on Lachit Borphukan will also be held on November 18 at all Assam educational institutions, according to CM Sarma. He has mandated all academic institutions to turn in the essays.
He added that the district and state levels of the tournament would be held later. The essays with the best scores will be posted on the Lachit Borphukan app and portal.
