A government junior engineer was detained on bribery accusations by Vigilance and Anti-Corruption unit sleuths in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Debasish Das, JE, Directorate of Municipal Administration, was busted while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 at his office in the city’s Dispur area.
GP Singh, Special Director General of Police (DGP), Law and Order, inform about the same via Twitter.
He wrote, “Debashis Das, JE, Directorate of Municipal Administration has been caught red handed by the team of the @DIR_VAC_ASSAM while receiving bribe of INR 25000 at his office located in Dispur, Guwahati.”
According to reports, Das was apprehended after a trap was set in response to a complaint filed against him by an individual named Kirti Kamal Tamuli.
