Guwahati residents have made many complaints to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) regarding the collection of parking fees under the guise of valet parking.
In response to the complaints, Devasish Sharma, Commissioner, GMC, has asked all concerned mall owners to stop collecting parking fees from their customers under the guise of valet parking, effective immediately.
During their field inspections, GMC officials noticed that malls and businesses were collecting parking fees from customers as valet parking, according to the GMC Commissioner.
The GMC Commissioner stated that the imposition of parking fees had sparked widespread public outrage.
