Guwahati News: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation’s (GMC) Health branch on Monday launched a drive in Guwahati’s Athgaon and Fancy Bazar areas.

During the drive, 17 business establishments were inspected, including sweet manufacturing karkhanas, restaurants, sweet shops, and fast food outlets, with six trades found to be operating without proper trade licences.

Businesses found without valid trade licences are the following:

i) Lala Hotel, SRCB Road, Fancy Bazar.
ii) Sita Ram Bhojanalaya, SRCB Road, Fancy Bazar.
iii) Bewafa Food, KRC Road, Kumarpara.
iv) Maa Bhojanalaya, KRC Road, Kumarpara.
v) Ganpati Foods, KRC Road, Kumarpara.
vi) Spice Club, KRC Road, Kumarpara.

In addition, eight business premises had health and hygiene problems. All parties operating with infractions were sent notices under the provisions of the GMC Act.

Health and hygiene issues are found in these following business establishments:

i) Kiranshree Sweet & Snacks (Restaurant)
ii) Kiranshree Sweet & Snacks (sweet karkhana)
iii) Bewafa Food, KRC Road, Kumarpara.
iv) Maa Bhojanalaya, KRC Road, Kumarpara.
v) Ganpati Foods, KRC Road, Kumarpara.
vi) Spice Club, KRC Road, Kumarpara.
vii) Lala Hotel, SRCB Road, Fancy Bazar.
viii) Sita Ram Bhojanalaya, SRCB Road, Fancy Bazar.

During the drive, a total of Rs 80,500 in penalties was collected.
