The Guwahati Municipal Corporation election has been postponed to April 22, according to a statement issued by the State Election Commission on Thursday.
Now, the election will take place on April 22 rather than April 19, and the counting will take place on April 24.
The statement also stated that the election date coincides with the celebration of the Bohag Bihu festival in the state, and that the election date has been postponed at the request of all political parties and social organisations.
