On Sunday evening in Moidumia, North Lakhimpur district, a 20-year-old youth was stabbed to death at a wedding ceremony by one of his pals over a game of Ludo.
The deceased identified as Issad Ali was playing Ludo with his five companions, including the accused identified as Afzat Ali.
Afzat got into a quarrel with Issad over the game, leading to a physical altercation between the two. According to reports, Afzat was backed up by the other four companions.
Issad received severe knife injuries and was sent to a local hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
Afzat Ali fled the scene and disappeared after the incident.
In the meantime, one person has been arrested in relation to the incident.
Further investigation is underway.
