Assam has been devastated by nature’s fury, with eight people killed and four lakh people affected by floods as the state’s continuous rainfall and landslides deteriorate.

Floods have affected over four lakh people in 26 districts throughout the state, according to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA)’s data.

The flooding has been reported in the following districts: Bajali, Barpeta, Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Cachar, Charaideo, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Dima Hasao, Goalpara, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup, Karbi Anglong West, Karimganj, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Morigaon, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sonitpur, Tamulpur, Udalguri, Darrang, and Kamrup (M).

According to the ASDMA’s daily flood data, flooding has affected 4,03,352 people, including 8,0659 children.

178 relief camps have been established across the State’s several regions, with a total of 39,558 people residing there.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority’s data, 3,353 houses have been flooded in the last 24 hours.
