Locals living close to Kaziranga National Park have reported an alleged breach of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, cabinet minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, and spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev.

On behalf of the people who live close to the national park, Huneswar Narah and Pradip Pegu filed the FIR on Sunday at the Bokakhat Police Station.

Since no tourist is permitted to enter the national park after 4:30 pm, the FIR claims that the vehicle safari taken by the Sadhguru and the chief minister on Saturday night was a clear violation of the Wildlife Protection Act.

The FIR stated, “Law is same for all. We therefore request the police to take action against all people involved in this act or either provide an apology for the same. We hope that justice would be provided to us.”

As part of the three-day Chintan Shivir that was held at the Kaziranga Borgos Resort, the Sadhguru visited the national park.
