The Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) will raise its tariffs by 8% starting from April 1, 2022.

The Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved the rate increase for the financial year 2022-23.

Domestic consumers consuming (below 5 kW) up to 120 units per month would have to pay a fixed price of Rs 60 per kW per month, plus an energy charge of Rs 5.30 per kWh, according to the revised tariff card. From 120 to 240 units, fixed tariffs of Rs 60 per kW per month and Rs 6.60 per kWh would apply.

Consumers who qualify for the Jeevan Dhara subsidy will pay Rs 30 per kW per month in fixed charges and Rs 7.65 per kWh in energy charges.

Domestic customers in the High Tension category will pay a monthly fixed charge of Rs 60 per kW and energy charges of Rs 7.20 per kWh.

Fixed electricity rates have been increased by Rs 10 per kW each month under the new tariffs. Additionally, all energy rates have been increased by 25 to 50 paise per unit.
