Due to a heavy rain alert in Assam, the District Disaster Management Authority issued an order on Wednesday ordering all educational institutions in the Dima Hasao district to remain closed until June 18th.
The order stated, “In anticipation of heavy rainfall that is predicted to occur from 14th June 2022 to 17th June 2022 in Dima Hasao as per reports received from Regional Meteorological Center, Guwahati, the undersigned vide powers conferred u/s 34 of Disaster Management Act, 2005, and in the interest of public safety, do hereby order the closure of all educational institutions in Dima Hasao from 15th June 2022 to 18th June 2022.”
“All Gaon Burahs of all villages & OC’s /IC’s of all Police Station / OPs of Dima Hasao District are hereby asked to share information relating to damages due to Natural Disaster to this office in the following Nos. 03673-236324, 03673-1077/9435530412 for taking necessary action,” it added.
